Eighteen year-old Chinese violin virtuoso Zeyu Victor Li is quickly building an international reputation as one of the most prodigiously gifted young concert soloists to emerge in recent years – praised for his technical mastery, exuberance and calm confidence. First prize winner of the 2014 Schadt String Competition, Victor is featured on this program with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra performing his winning piece, Violin Concerto in D by JEAN SIBELIS. This concert is also a celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Schadt String Competition (started in 1995) in which Victor will perform Rapsodico, a World Premiere by Roberto Sierra, commissioned by the Allentown Symphony Orchestra.

Born in Huaunan City, in China, Victor is a student of respected pedagogue Aaron Rosand at the Curtis Institute of Music –and is a recent prize winner at the Montreal International Violin Competition and the Young Concert Artists International Auditions, in New York.

Victor’s recent debuts include performances with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Brevard Symphony Orchestra, University of South Carolina Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Spring International Music Festival Orchestra and the Montreal Symphony.
